You always tell them what they want to hear, otherwise don't expect an offer. That is the real truth, otherwise you won't fit the "culture" of the company. If you tell them they are wrong, then you will break their egos. The hiring manager for the team might really like you, but the team members could be rubbed the wrong way, intimidated, and they might be looking for someone like them. The answers could range from not a team player, not enough experience, and might not understand the product/company problems... from a less than 1 hour interaction.
