Unlike most, I agree more with AL Anany. Yes, it is a cycle much like the 2000s. Developers were laid off in masses and took about 3-4 years to start the recovery... that is a lot of time to not be earning money. Also, the pandemic helped many companies make a lot more money than they were used to and this is something they want to keep doing, so using AI as an excuse and laying off a lot of employees the companies save money and that is shown in profit, hence bonuses. Now AI makes mistakes, look at Gemini from Google, these systems are more like parsing search engines than actual AI... except that now they don't give you links, but the content on those links, images, and videos. It is not real intelligence, it is a search engine providing you direct results... without copyright, trained on data from the web that has been scrapped if that makes sense.
