I think while not having responsibilities and being young, sure this works really well... you can pivot and explore. Usually to change roles you have to quit a company and join a different one with the new role. However, as soon as you have a family/kid(s) this lesson becomes garbage and more of an entitlement statement. Families are expensive, and we want to provide the best we can for them. Truth be told, money makes it a lot easier and afford you some freedoms you fail to see at your age. I hope things work out well for you, but also know that product management you direct people and make nothing yourself (for most of the time)... chances are it will be less satisfying than making the products.
